Residential and Commercial Water Softeners

Most people are aware of the benefits of clean and pure drinking water. But did you know that soft water can provide your family and your business with numerous advantages, too?

Water Softeners are primarily used for removal of unwanted calcium and magnesium from raw water. Commonly referred to as lime, they form scale deposits in plumbing and soap curd on objects cleaned with hard water. Mineral particles even become deposited between cloth fibers, leaving laundry dingy while deteriorating the fabric.

Features & Benefits of HYDROCHEM Domestic Water Softener:-

Water Heaters and Washing Machines have more efficiency, consumes less energy, less soap / detergent and last longer.
No clogging or scaling of pipes and fixtures
Clean fabrics and softer clothes
Soft water for bathing, Less detergents and soap
Hair is softer and easier to manage
Shower feeling refreshed, skin clean and smooth.
Your health and beauty improves.
More customer satisfaction and increased bottom line.
Significant savings of money, time and health
Automated Systems available for easy operation and to last long.

How the Water Softener works?

Raw water passes through a Water softening plant pressure vessel containing cation exchange resin in sodium form, where, Calcium and Magnesium ions present in raw water are exchanged with sodium ions.

The treated water coming out of the water softening plant has total hardness of less than 5 mg./Litre. This water is stored in a treated water Storage Tank.

When the softening plant resin gets saturated with calcium and magnesium ions, it can be regenerated by injecting a 15% solution of the common salt into the resin bed. The regeneration system for injecting the salt solution is included in the water softening plant.

Water Softener Regeneration Cycle:-

1) Backwash:

Removes accumulated debris from the resin bed. The exchanger is taken off line and out of service. Raw water flows upward through the resin bed to expand it at least 50%. Most foulant materials are scrubbed from the bead surfaces and fractured beads are washed out from the softener vessel.

2) Brine Cycle

Saturated salt solution from the brine supply is drawn slowly through the resin bed. The reverse of the exchange reaction occurs: calcium and magnesium ions are displaced from the resin and replaced with sodium ions from the salt brine.

3) Rinse Cycle

Removes excess hardness from the resin bed. This cycle consists of a slow and a fast rinse phase. During the slow rinse cycle raw water pushes the remaining salt brine through the resin bed. The fast rinse cycle flushes out all remaining displaced calcium and magnesium ions, any unused salt brine, and packs the resin bed readying it for service.

4) Service Cycle

Hardness is removed from the water supply. The raw stream flows downward through the resin bed where the hardness ions are removed and replaced by sodium ion. The softener effluent is soft water with less than 5 ppm of hardness.
Eco Smart Automatic Water Softeners are engineered for maximum performance with minimum maintenance. All components are the highest quality in the industry for trouble free operation for many years with reliable service back up.

Industrial Water Softeners

Calcium and magnesium are hard scale forming minerals that build up on piping, heat exchangers, water heaters, boilers and any steam related equipment. This buildup results in costly repairs, increased energy consumption, plugged heat exchangers and boiler tubes. The service life of linens, clothing, appliances and fixtures is greatly reduced due to these "hard" minerals. For laundry and dishwashing, the use of a water softener will significantly reduce the amount of soaps and detergents, resulting in reduced operating expenses.
You can run your business more effectively reducing hard-water build-up and saving equipment from unnecessary wear.
You will save time and money in the following areas:-
• Plumbing repairs
• energy consumption
• Premature replacement of equipment and fixtures
• Replacement of linens, clothing, towels and other laundry.
• Maintenance
